Institut del Paisatge Urbà i la Qualitat de Vida (IMPUQV) watches over the landscape values of the city. The Municipal Institute of Urban Landscape and Quality of Life (IMPUQV) is a local autonomous body established by unanimous agreement of the Plenary Council of Barcelona City Council on 27 June 1997, which assumes municipal competences in matters of planning and organisation of public space and the urban landscape.
The Institute is managed by a Governing Board. It is an active member of the Advisory Board of the Landscape Observatory, the Urban Noise Panel and the Public Space Commission.
